Community Sports Coach (Programmes)
£25,500 | Full-time, 37.5 hours per week | Preston

Preston Grasshoppers Community Foundation is a young, ambitious charity using Rugby Union to promote physical and mental wellbeing and drive positive social change. From tag rugby in primary schools to Walking Rugby for the over-50s our programmes open up the sport to people of all ages, genders and backgrounds with a particular focus on disadvantaged and diverse communities.
We're now looking for a passionate Community Sports Coach to join our growing team. This is a varied role, you'll deliver high-quality coaching in schools, at the club and out in the community, while working closely with the Head of Foundation to grow our programmes and build lasting relationships with schools, community groups and local partners.
What you'll be doing
• Delivering fun, inclusive rugby and multi-sport sessions in schools and community settings
• Leading holiday sports camps and supporting before and after-school provision
• Growing participation in our community programmes, including Rugratz Rugby, Walking Rugby and the Rugby Pathway Programme
• Building relationships with schools, councils, community organisations and partners to widen access to the sport
• Supporting programme planning, coordination and monthly impact reporting alongside the Head of Foundation
What we're looking for
• England Rugby Coaching Award or equivalent Level 2 sports coaching qualification
• Experience coaching in schools and community settings, with participants of all ages, backgrounds and abilities
• A people person someone who enjoys building relationships and getting communities involved
• A positive, adaptable approach with flexibility to work some evenings and weekends
• Ability to travel independently across Preston and surrounding delivery locations.
Experience of multi-sport delivery, mentoring junior coaches, safeguarding training or using social media to promote programmes would all be a bonus but enthusiasm and the right attitude matter most.
