The recent Kids Rugby & Multisports Camp delivered by the Preston Grasshoppers Community Foundation at Preston Grasshoppers Rugby Club was a huge success, bringing together fun, sport, and festive cheer across three action-packed days
Across the camp, an incredible 123 places were filled, demonstrating just how valuable and in-demand these sessions are for local families. Of these, 75 places were provided through the HAF programme, alongside 13 Wooden Spoon-funded places, ensuring that children from across the community had access to an inclusive, engaging, and supportive holiday experience.
Three Days of Sport, Fun & Festive Activities 🎄🏉⚽
Children took part in a wide range of activities designed to keep them active, learning, and smiling throughout the camp. The programme included:
• Rugby and football sessions focused on skills, teamwork, and confidence
• Fun games and multisport activities suitable for all abilities
• Enrichment activities encouraging creativity and social development
• A festive Christmas party complete with games, dancing, and celebrations
• A Christmas dinner enjoyed together as a group
• A special awards presentation to recognise effort, attitude, and teamwork
The camp wasn’t just about sport, it was about creating a safe, positive environment where children could make friends, build confidence, and enjoy the school holidays in a healthy and supportive setting.
Jake Squirrell, Head of Foundation, said:
“The camp was absolutely brilliant. Seeing all the children enjoying themselves, staying active, and celebrating together really shows the impact these camps have. We’re incredibly proud to be able to offer so many funded places and to give children an experience that combines sport, fun, and festive memories they’ll remember for a long time.”
